The Chargers travelled to Heron Lake on Tuesday and played perhaps their best defensive game of the year. The offense started slow but kicked it in gear when Tyler Schoborg crashed into the endzone for a 4 yard TD. The extra point failed. Later Marshall Garbe would carry the around the end for a 5 yard TD, again the extra point failed making the score 12-0 at the half. In the third quarter Vancelee Vang scampered in for a 3 yard score while Mitchell Jarmer ran the QB sneak for the extra point. In the 4th, Bee Her scored on a 25 yard sweep, with the extra point failing. The final score came by 7th grader Zach VandeKeift as he made a nice 20 yard run to get into the endzone making the final score 32-0. The defense was stellar all day: Tristan Joel picked off two passes, the Chargers forced 4 fumbles, and made some bone crunching tackles as they dominated the line of scrimmage. Meng Vang had a fumble recovery. The whole team played well on defense and it is hard to single out anyone as we played great "team" defense.
The 7th grade scrimmage after the game went in the same direction as the 7th graders scored on 3 of 10 possessions while SWU was blanked 0 for 10. Again, Zach VandeKeift took the ball around the end for a 40 yard score. Two plays later a pitch pass from VandeKieft to Jake Otto resulted in the Chargers second score. Later, AJ Quade made a nice run but fumbled the ball into the endzone where Randy Knutson jumped on it for the Chargers third and final score. Defensively, the 7th grade played well barely allowing SWU any positive yards.
It was a great way to end the season, and a good season it was. The team and coaches would like to thank Mrs. Otto and Mrs. Woelber for the wonderful meals to take on the bus! It was awesome-
The coaches would also like to thank the guys for their hard work that led to a successful season, with only one loss. Keep working hard and watch football and keep learning!

The Jr High boys travelled to Ivanhoe Thursday afternoon to take on the Knights of Lincoln Hi. This day the Chargers came to play, looking better on both sides of the ball and dominating the entire game leading to a 40-2 victory and were able to get a chance to practice our special teams play. Mitchell Jarmer had the best game of his career throwing four TD's, 2 extra points, running in an extra point himself, and returning an interception for a touchdown that was called back by a clipping penalty. The scoring started in the first quarter with a 10 yd pass to Vancelee Vang for the score, with Marshall Garbe sweeping around the end for the two pt conversion. Later in the quarter, Jarmer hit Bee Xiong on a quck shot for a 15 yard score, with Logan Weis catching the conversion to make it 16-0. The second quarter started much the same for the Chargers with Jarmer completing a beautiful pass on a chair route to Tristan Joel, with Jarmer sneaking it in for the 2 pt conversion. Just before the half Jarmer hit Marshall Garbe for another score with 7th grader Kennedy Her catching the 2 pt conversion to make it 34-0 at the half. The second half the 7th graders saw a lot of playing time. The Chargers would put it into the endzone one last time with a 25 yard rush by Her. The conversion failed. Lincoln HI's only points came on a QB sack in the endzone in the fourth quarter then reversed the scheme sacking Lincoln HI's QB in the endzone for two pts making the final score 40-2.
Defensively Walker Christians would have gotten a game ball, recovering a fumble, intercepting a pass, and play great contain at outside linebacker. Tyler Schoborg also recovered two fumbles, while Vancelee Vange recovered one. The defense played a great game allowing the Lincoln HI team very little yardage on the ground or in the air. Overall, the Chargers played the best game so far this season, which is good, going into their final game next Tuesday at Brewster. Way to go Chargers! If you plan on attending the game please try to arrive closer to 4:30 than 5 pm as they have it scheduled as 4:30 but our schedule (from AD) says 5 pm. The bus will leave at 3:15 so we will begin as soon as we arrive and get stretched.

The game was changed to a scrimmage, however the Chargers took it to the Echo Charter School. The Chargers scored 3 offensive TD's on a Tyler Schoborg run, a QB keep from Mitchell Jarmer, and a run by Tristan Joel. Logan Weis caught a conversion pass from Jarmer. On defense Walker Christians intercepted a pass taking it back for a score. Echo was able to score one TD against the Chargers making it 4-1. Thanks to Coach Kletcher for taking over for an ailing Coach P. Its on to Ivanhoe on Thursday! Go Chargers!

The Charger team didnt come to play as the Dutchman's running game ran all over the team. The Chargers seemed to be lacking energy and the mental awareness they usually show, making mistake after mistake on field. The Chargers only score came on a 29 yard scamper by Marshall Garbe in the 4th quarter. The Chargers had a limited number of offensive plays due to fumbles, miscues, and an interception which kept them on defense a lot. It was a good wake up call and learning experience in the fact that you have to come to play every game. Although a bit disappointing, the group will work hard this week to prepare for the game against Echo next Monday.

The Edgerton Jr High game will be one game, primarily 8th grade, and 7th grade will get so many sets of plays afterwards unless you read differently. This is how it has been in the past, but waiting for an email from their coach. Coach P
